You Are Invited!

Now that you are exploring our website, you may be wondering how a church with formal liturgical traditions and classical iconic art work can be a place where a contemporary inclusive ministry thrives.  Like the earliest disciples of Christ, you simply have to come and see* how we celebrate our faith and enjoy being faithful followers of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to become a part of the St. John’s family. Please call the Parish Office at (503) 245-3777, or sign the guest register at one of our services so we can connect you with our Welcome Team.

* The Gospel according to St. John tells how the first disciples become followers of  Jesus

John 1:35-41

The next day John was there again with two of his disciples.  When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.   Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”

They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”

“Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).
